The Clerk received a letter from Mr J Tindall of the 4th inst of Oak House, Wistow, stating that he had purchased a field of approximately 2 acres from East Riding County Council no 150 on Ordnance Survey in Osgodby and he would like to present it to Barlby & Osgodby Parish Council free of legal charges as a playing field for the inhabitants of parish of Barlby in memory of his late father who resided there for 30 years. Mr Tindall attended the meeting and stated that he wished the field to be used as a playing field for children and adults residing in the Parish. He also pointed out that the field was at present let to Mr G Dobson of Osgodby at a yearly rental of £5 and that the Council would receive this rent until the time was opportune to develop the site as a playing field. Moved Mr Simpson Sec Mr Morrell that the Council accepts Mr Tindall’s very generous offer and that the Clerk be instructed to write and thank Mr & Mrs Tindall most heartedly for their kind gift.
