We are aware that at our speaker meetings, we have little opportunity of chatting with people who ask us questions about how to explore local or their family history.
So………. we’ve decided to hold “Explore Local and Family History” sessions once a month in Barlby Library. This will be a free “drop-in” session between 2 30 pm and 4 30 pm at Barlby Library. If you are interested in getting involved in exploring local history, or thinking of starting your family history, these sessions are for you! You can bring along your own laptop (free Wi-Fi) (but laptops and Library computer access will be available)
We will be able to guide you where to search local, nation-wide and National archives for documents (you’ll be surprised where “local history” records are found!). We also have full access to a number of genealogy sites and other family history resources. In May, we will be exploring “How to Research Your House”. Come along and join us at the first session on 15 March.
