Unfortunately, due to volunteer’s being away, we are unable to hold the November session and we do not hold a session in December, so the next session will be in JANUARY 2026.
Our monthly explore sessions are interesting especially when we are able to help people on their family history trail. Yesterday, 17 October, it was lovely to see someone who we helped a couple of months ago, found some basic information for them, and gave advice on how to follow-up. Wow, they are delighted to have found information no-one knew in the family, and are continuing their research with a trip to Ireland in May 2026. We are pleased to have been able to help, and thank you for the chocolates, that was really very kind.
Also yesterday, we helped put some detail on a photograph that someone had bought for the frame, but wanted to see if they could find more details about the stunning lady in the photograph (there was basic information on the back of the frame). We were able to trace who she was (maiden name, married names (married twice) and year of death. On the 1939 Register she was a Hairdressers Assistant living in Scarborough.
